Mooner GL
Chinaglock

Colombian artist Mooner GL brings his Latin house heat to Moon Harbour with four essential new tracks on his Chinaglock EP.

Mooner GL has made a global impact with his electric take on house and tech. It has come on labels like Under No Illusion, Kling Klong and Night Light Records with high-profile support from tastemakers such as Solardo, Stacey Pullen and Dubfire. As well as dropping chart-topping tunes, Mooner GL is also a resident at Octava Club, one of the most influential venues in his native Colombia.

This one kicks off with the steamy percussive energy of the excellent opener ‘Chinaglock’. Vocal stabs and wiry electronics all add detail to the insistent and loopy groove. ‘Cargo Pants’ is a brilliantly wonky rhythm with off-balance bass and hooky synth sounds that add colour to the crisp beats.

The vibes keep coming with the futuristic ‘Detroit is Here’ which is a lively house sound. It’s packed with soulful chord stabs and party-starting vocals infused with authentic Motor City energy that takes things to the next level. Last of all, ‘Five Panel Cap’ shuts down with darker energy and gritty drums. Menacing vocals pepper the mix while throbbing bass carries the whole thing late into the night.

Mooner GL shows his class across a range of styles with this highly effective new EP.
