Italian titans Supernova and Dutch talent Thomas Newson combine their skills on two new tracks for Moon Harbour.
Supernova are Emiliano Nencioni and Giacomo Godi, a vital duo that has been helping to shape the house world for over two decades. From collaborations with Frankie Knuckles and Kevin Saunderson to releases on Defected and their own Lapsus Music via hosting and curating cult events all over their homeland, they have done it all and then some. Meanwhile, Thomas Newson is a young but innovative artist known for his killer grooves on Toolroom, Armada Subjekt and Axtone amongst many more.
The powerful ‘Calling’ kicks off with retro organ baselines and diva vocal wails that soon get the sweat dripping and fists pumping. The bubbly melodic sequence brings warmth and soul to this high-impact but soulful house pumper.
The vibes keep flowing on the classy ‘So Good’ with its spoken word musings adding detail to more supple house grooves. The bassline is infectious with prickly percussion and plenty of dynamics in the rich and sensuous chords.
These are two contemporary house tracks packed with a perfect mix of physicality and emotion.
