Danny Serrano
Bassline

It’s been a while, but Danny Serrano makes a welcome return to Moon Harbour with one of his famously steamy and percussive house EPs.

In the past, Serrano has dropped many standout tunes on this label, including the likes of his Love Money EP with Solo Tamas and solo cuts like ‘Karamaba’ and ‘Paragraphy’. The Spaniard is a prolific producer who heads up his own label Serrano’s Kitchen and has also featured on taste-making imprints like Stereo Productions, Desolat and Knee Deep In Sound. After more than 60 releases over the last decade-plus, his commitment to experimenting and evolving his house sound remains second to none.

This one starts with the irresistible ‘Bassline’, a bustling and musical mix of chunky drums and fiery toms, fills and percussive details. A dark vocal instructs you to give over to dancing and raw synths burst out of the mix to keep the energy high and the grooves pumping. The second track ‘The Beat’ is a deeper cut with a warm, rolling bassline and loopy synths hypnotising the dance floor. Chopped vocals bring the soul and there’s a tribal, carnival atmosphere that makes this one perfect for open-air dancing this summer.

Vital house master Serrano continues to lead from the front with this latest EP.
